About our concrete contractor business in Stamford
Caliber Stamford Concrete is a concrete contractor in Stamford, CT. We started in 2017, and the owner still walks every job. We build driveways, patios and steps that drain right and sit flat, plus foundations and lots for the property managers who call us.

From landscaping patios to running a concrete crew
I ran a small landscaping business for years before I ever poured a slab. The patios and walks were the part I liked best, so I went and learned concrete by working beside a crew that did it every day.
I started Caliber Stamford Concrete in 2017. Most of our calls come from homeowners here in Stamford and the cities around it who want a driveway, patio or set of steps done once and done right. We also get some property managers with a lot or a foundation to sort out.
Early on, I learned that concrete takes the blame for whatever is under it. A nice-looking slab on a bad base is just an expensive crack waiting to happen. I'd rather spend an extra hour on prep and tell you up front where a crack might show than explain it to you later. That idea runs through our concrete work in Stamford.
What you can count on when we pour
You'll notice these from the first visit to the day you use your new slab. Most of them happen where nobody looks, and that's the point.
You deal with the owner
You talk to the owner from the first walk around your yard to the last pour. No salesman hands you off to someone else. If a question comes up halfway through, you know who to ask, and that person already knows your job.
Effort goes under the slab
The base, the drainage and the joints decide how your concrete holds up, so that's where our effort goes. We dig out and pack the subgrade, the ground the slab sits on. We slope the slab away from your house and cut control joints, which are planned grooves, so any crack usually follows a line we picked.
Poured on the job's schedule
We plan the mix, the pour and the curing around your job, not around our calendar. That can mean an early start to stay out of the midday heat, which can leave a weak, dusty top. It also means letting the slab cure, the wait while it hardens, before anyone walks or parks on it.
Straight answers on permits
Before any work starts, we check with your city's building office and tell you what it wants for your job. If a permit is needed, we handle the application with you. If the office hasn't answered yet, we tell you that instead of guessing.
Licensed, insured and easy to check
We're licensed and fully insured. If you want to check a contractor's license yourself, the state's License Lookup pulls straight from Connecticut's own records, so that's the check that counts.
- Response time
We reply within one business day.
How a job goes from first call to cure
Here's how a job goes with us, from your first call to the day the slab is ready to use. We work out the price and the plan at the estimate, not halfway through the job.
Call or send the form
Call us at (475) 333-3026 or fill out the form on our contact page. Tell us what you need and where. We reply within one business day to set up a time for me to come take a look, and there's no pressure to book anything.
I walk and measure
I come out myself, walk the job with you and measure. Then you get a free written estimate that shows what's in it. That way you can see what moves the price, which is mostly the size, how much base work the ground needs and the finish you pick.
Prep and the pour
My crew preps the ground and sets the forms and any rebar, the steel bars that keep cracked pieces from pulling apart. Then they pour and finish. I'm on site for the steps that matter most, which usually means checking the base before we pour and being there on pour day.
Curing and cleanup
Once the slab is finished, it needs time to cure. We tell you when it's ready to walk on and when it's ready to drive on. We clean up before we leave, and if anything looks off, you know who to call. Satisfaction guaranteed.
